Florida Clouds
Florida has some of the most fascinating cloud formations. I caught this one while in Punta Gorda overlooking Charlotte Harbor. I used my Tokina 11-16mm wide angle.

Fall in Florida
Most people think we have summer all year long in Florida. The truth is it's summer for about 9 months of the year then we have fall and it usually doesn't come until winter. The photos above were taken at the Environmental Campus where I work.

Golden Sunrise
I pulled this one out of the archives at the request of one of my co-workers. This was taken in October of 2010. It was an early morning golden sunrise. This is the pond behind the building where I work; and yes the pond does contain aligators.

Texture and Light
I spent some time today balancing flash with ambient light. Using my 90mm macro lens, I photographed this leaf, which was backlit by the sun. Even though there was plenty of exisiting light, I utilized my built-in flash as a fill which brought out the texture and waxy look of the leaf. Previous photos without the fill-in flash appeared flat and lifeless.
